Editorial policy

Purpose

We publish content to help readers understand the Malta Permanent Residence Programme. We write for people, not search engines, and we do not publish pages without a genuine informational purpose.

Statement types

Every factual statement about the programme falls into one of five labelled categories:

1. Official requirement — quoted from or directly referenced to S.L. 217.26, a Legal Notice or the Residency Malta Agency.
2. Professional interpretation — how practitioners commonly read a provision; labelled as such and never presented as an official requirement.
3. General information — context such as Malta's property market, cost of living or transport.
4. Editorial explanation — our plain-English restatement of an official provision.
5. Frequently asked question — a real reader question with a sourced answer.

Authorship and review

Important pages display who wrote them, who reviewed them, when they were published, updated and last verified. Regulatory content is reviewed by a designated reviewer before publication and after any change in the law.

Corrections

If we find or are told of an error, we correct it, record the change in the page's revision history and, where the change is material, publish a note in the updates section.

Independence

We do not accept payment to alter factual content. Commercial relationships (for example property listings from partner agencies) are disclosed and kept separate from programme information.
