Documents required for the MPRP
Every document and form the application needs — identity, civil status, financial, police, health, dependants, property — with a personalised interactive checklist you can save, print and download.
Rules that apply to every document
- Forms and documents must be in English, with authenticated translations where needed (regulation 12(3)). Translations done abroad must be apostilled or legalised; translations done in Malta must be by a registered translator.
- Unless an original is expressly required, a certified copy is acceptable. The certifier must give their full name, capacity, address, telephone and email (regulation 13(2)).
- Certificates such as birth and marriage certificates are needed at the initial application stage, apostilled or legalised as the case may be.
- Affidavits are sworn in person before a person empowered to administer oaths; oaths by video call are not accepted.
- The Agency's Agent Handbook contains the definitive list; your licensed agent works from it.
