Source hierarchy

5. Official government publications (Agency brochure, FAQ, handbook)

7. Reputable professional or legal sources — used only for context or interpretation and labelled

Source register

Every source we rely on is listed in the public source register with its authority, type, publication and effective dates, the date we last checked it and its status (active, superseded, archived). Each page's "Sources & Verification" section links to the entries it relies on and, where useful, quotes the exact wording.

Superseded sources

When a document is superseded — for example the Agency's 2024 FAQ, whose fee figures pre-date the 2025 amendments — we keep it in the register, mark it, and use it only for content that remains valid (such as procedural guidance), with a note explaining the limitation.

Third-party claims

We never present a third party's claim as an official requirement. Where professional commentary is quoted, it is labelled "Professional interpretation".
