Mdina
Also: L-Imdina, Città Notabile
The walled medieval former capital, the 'Silent City': a few hundred residents, palazzi, the cathedral and views across the island. Almost no property turnover.

Mdina was Malta's capital until the Knights moved to Birgu and then Valletta. Its walls enclose a small number of residents, St Paul's Cathedral, palaces of old noble families and narrow streets that are car-free for visitors. It is a heritage site rather than a residential market; adjoining Rabat provides the services.
