A large residential town between the harbour area and Birkirkara, with an industrial estate, supermarkets and good value housing close to Sliema and St Julian's.
San Ġwann grew rapidly after the 1960s and is now one of the most populous localities in Malta. It is practical rather than picturesque: good road links, supermarkets, the San Ġwann industrial estate and a mix of maisonettes, terraced houses and apartments at prices below the seafront towns a few minutes away.
