The town outside Mdina's walls: St Paul's catacombs, the Domvs Romana, a traditional centre and countryside towards Dingli, with a state health centre.

Rabat grew on the Roman city of Melite outside the walls of Mdina. It has catacombs, the Domvs Romana museum and St Paul's Grotto, a lively traditional centre, and open country to the west leading to the Dingli cliffs. Housing is mainly traditional townhouses and farmhouses.
