Msida sits at the head of Marsamxett harbour and is best known for the University of Malta's main campus at Tal-Qroqq and the adjacent Mater Dei Hospital, Malta's main acute hospital. The town has a marina and parish church on the waterfront, and student housing in the surrounding streets.
